Kolourpaint

Description: Kolourpaint is a basic image editor similar to MS Paint on Windows.

Website: Kolourpaint Homepage

Installation: aMSN can be installed by selecting KDE Menu-->Applications-->System-->Package Manager or Package Manager for KDE4 (whichever you'd prefer). Then you can do a search for 'kolourpaint' and, when it comes up, select it for installation and then click apply. (Note: There will be two versions available, one for KDE 3 and one for KDE 4. If you want to keep your system consistent, choose the one for KDE 4).

The Gimp

Description: The Gimp is an advanced image editor along the lines of Adobe's Photoshop

Website: Gimp Homepage

Installation: The Gimp can be installed by selecting KDE Menu-->Applications-->System-->Package Manager or Package Manager for KDE4 (whichever you'd prefer). Then you can do a search for 'gimp' and, when it comes up, select it for installation and then click apply. (Note: It will mark a few other files needed to use Gimp. I also recommend installing gimp-helpbrowser, gimp-helpcommon and gimp-help-en or whatever your language code is. These will all show up in the results for gimp).

Post Installation Notes: For some reason, KDE 4 does not add The Gimp to the KDE Menu automatically (or at least it didn't for me). You can launch it by right clicking on your desktop and clicking Run Command then inputting gimp and hitting enter on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can try searching for gimp in the KDE Menu search feature.

Bleeding Edge: Not applicable.
